Scrapbooks, 1877-1907 include: Vol. 1, 1877-1880; Vol. 2 1877-1880; Vol. 3 1883-1884; Vol. 4 1891-1892; Vol. 5 1892-1903; Vol. 6 1892-1897; Vol. 7 1892-1893; Vol. 8 1899-1904; Vol. 9 1899; and Vol. 10 1899-1907. Volumes consist of newspaper clippings, notes, correspondence, poetry, programs, invitations, and souvenirs about women's rights movements, women at work, women's issues, feminists, the World's Columbian Exposition (World's Fair) at Chicago and the Women's Building there, 1893; the International and National Congresses of Women; the Art Association of Indianapolis; His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Pu Lun of China; the Carnegie Hall Dedication, Pittsburgh (Pa.), 1907; pacifist organizations; a letter to the Empress Frederich from Sewall; and the Norddeutscher Lloyd ocean liners. Also included are newspaper articles Sewall wrote or edited. Photographs and newspaper drawings are scattered throughout the scrapbooks. Some materials are in Greek, French, German, and Scandinavian languages. Issues no. 313, 314, and 316 (1893) of the first women's suffrage journal in Greece "The Women's Journal" are in v. 7. These are the only issues of the journal in the U.S., and include an article about and photograph of Sewall.

Sewall was an educator, co-founder of the Girls' Classical School of Indiana, writer, lecturer, reformer, and pacifist.
